Taking care of relationship

TAKING CARE OF RELATIONSHIPS

7 Stay away from a fool, for you will not find
knowledge on their lips (Proverbs 14:7 NIV).

Tell me who you are with and I will tell you who you are…be around wolves and you will learn to howl…be around honey and something will stick to you…

Take care of your relationships and you will be taking care of your life. Choose your friends and you will be choosing your future and the future of your upcoming generations.

7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge (Proverbs 14:7 NIV).

We are social beings, but the Bible advises us to move away from those who are foolish. We need to learn to associate with those who can influence us to be better human beings; and also to partner with those who can influence and enrich our lives.

We are not talking about forming a group of exclusive people, where some are despised because of their social class, nationality or education level. The Bible says: He who despises his neighbor sins; But he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he (Proverbs 14:21NIV).

We are talking about seriously asking ourselves where our friends are leading us to. You are where you are today because of what you thought, did and because of the people you related with yesterday. If you want to see different results tomorrow, then you will have to think and do things differently. Also, you will probably have to relate with different people, those who can lead you to the future you consider successful and influence you to leave a blessed legacy for your children, grand children and future generations.

You and I will have these options every day. You will have to decide for yourself when it comes to who you want to partner with and who you will invest your time with, but remember: take care of your relationships and you will be taking care of your life and your future.

Time to Reflect:

-Are your relationships leading you to a better future?
-Will you be able to leave a better legacy for your upcoming generations, because of your friends?
-Are you happy with who you are today and do you want your children to be the same in the future?
