CULTIVATE HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS

Cultivate healthy relationships for the times of sorrow.

He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled.  “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” Mark 14:33-34

We all need trustworthy relationships where we are supported and able to show our true feelings without being ashamed or criticized.

If our Lord Jesus looked for three of his friends to help him pray during one of the most difficult times of his life, who are we to think that we can live emotionally stable, while being far from others?

He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled… he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” Mark 14:33-34

God did not create us to be “all mighty”. We need one another. He designed us to practice the over fifty “one anothers” in the Bible.

We all need friends that can support us during the hard times at work or in the family. The burdens become lighter when the weight is shared with several people.

Your House of Peace group is a perfect place to cultivate this type of friendships.

I have seen that the people who are involved in a smaller group have healthier relationships than those who only come on Sundays with the multitudes in the church.

It is proven that people who have friends are more stable and resistant when they face crises in life. They are not so easily discouraged like the lone rangers.

Think about it:

Do you have that kind of friendships where you can ask for prayer when you are having marital or financial problems?
Which one of your friends need you to help them pray?
