HOW TO DEAL WITH GUILT
Remorse will steal your peace. Guilt can keep you stalled in the shameful memories and it can stop you from seeing the future opportunities. Do not allow yesterday’s mistakes steal your present joy.
1. Remember that we all fail and admit your sin.
The Bible says, “People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.” Proverbs 28:13
2. Remember that God is not like men.
As human beings, we remember the offense and we store resentment for a long period, but God is different. He doesn’t harbor resentment nor does He rub anything in others’ faces saying, “I told you so”.
He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.
Think about it:
Is there something that you’re still carrying on your back and that you need to surrender unto God?
What thought do you have to leave behind in order to receive peace in your heart?
