What is success in the family life?

SUCCESS IN THE FAMILY LIFE SHOULDN’T BE SO COMPLICATED.

What is success in the family life? At Eagles CFC, we define this as:
To have healthy family relations, accepting our family members, understanding our role and fulfilling our responsibilities.
One of the most important things that we should understand is our role and how to fulfill it. The wives must respect their husbands as the head of the home, but the man must love his wife and truly be the head.

FOR THE WOMAN:
For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord.

For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church… Ephesians 5:22-23 NLT

To submit means to trust the leadership at home, your husband, to support him in everything that is biblical and that he doesn’t violate his conscience nor God’s commandments.
Being the head does not mean to be “the big shot”, the chief or the abuser. The man must be the spiritual leader, the provider and the protector at his home.

FOR THE MAN:
For husbands:

This means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her… Ephesians 5:25 NLT.

Just as Christ loves the church, so must the husband love his family; to the point that he sacrifices himself for the wellbeing of his home. He does not impose his authority, instead he earns trust through his example.
The man is the first one who prays, the first one who attends church, the first one who offers, the first one who serves and the first one who forgives.

FOR BOTH:

So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians 5:33 NLT

Respect and mutual submission create an atmosphere of trust and healthy relationships. Do not demand your rights, do not cross the line of respect, take care of your mouth and use it to edify and not to humiliate.

Think about it:

Have you been fulfilling your role as a husband or wife?
What do you need to change in order to have success in your marital relationship?
