You choose to remember what’s good

YOU CHOOSE TO REMEMBER WHAT’S GOOD

I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3

How do you feel when you remember certain places or people?

Having painful or happy memories is a choice. You decide what you want to think about.

Philippi was a city where Paul suffered very much and where he was treated unfairly to the point that he was put in jail (Acts 16).

But, when he remembered the Philippians in his prayers, he wasn’t thinking about the humiliating memories; instead he was thanking God for the good things he had experienced.

When you read the entire book of Acts, you see that there were people who humiliated him but also people who helped him; and those were the thoughts that he chose to remember and he thanked God for those memories in his prayers.

I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3

You cannot change the awful things that have happened to you, but you can change what you decide to think about. The bad things that already happened to you, are not an option; but telling your brain what you want to think about is your choice. You decide!

Think about it:

What do you need to stop remembering?
What do you want to start remembering?
