You were chosen “for something”

YOU WERE CHOSEN “FOR SOMETHING”

But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it  to reveal his Son to me so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. Galatians 1:15-16 NLT

1. First, you need to know that God knew you and called you to earth before you were born. Paul said, “… before I was born, God chose me and called me…”

2. Second, you are not an accident.
There are no illegitimate children, only illegitimate parents. There are no unplanned babies, only unplanned parents. But, “… before you were born God chose you”.

If He “chose” you it is because He had other options; but He decided to send you to earth “for” a specific mission. This is called, purpose.

Then it pleased him to reveal his Son to me so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. Galatians 1:15-16 NLT

3. Lastly, God called you with a purpose.
Notice these three phrases in the passage:

“Before I was born He chose me”
“He called me”
“So that”

“So that” talks about purpose. You have something good to give to this world. Join a ministry in your church and serve. If you are part of a HOP, serve your church with your finances and time; share what you have learned with someone else, tell someone your story in regards to how God changed your life.
Before I was born, God chose me and called me “so that…”

Think about it:

Why did God choose you?
What calling does He have for you?
