CREATED TO HAVE THE CHARACTER OF CHRIST
Many ask, why do bad things happen to me?
Maybe, there is no answer for everything that happens in our life; but we should confidently know that whatever happens, whether it is good or bad, it can help us mature. God wants us to mature. Everything that happens in our life can shape Christ’s character in us: the good, the bad, the pain, the nice things, the criticism, the praise, the slanders, the loss, the gain, poverty or wealth, health or sickness, abundance or scarcity; everything in life can help us, even if it looks like there is nothing good during those situations.
God is not the author of evil, but He can make something good out of anything. He makes the crucifixion into a resurrection; and He makes death into salvation for millions of people.
Every situation will either improve you or embitter you. It’s your choice, you decide what you what you want to make out of them.
What does God want us to shape in our character? It is called the fruit of the Spirit.
We need to develop spiritual maturity. We live in a society full of spiritual babies.
Many people are focused on themselves. They want everything now, even if they get in debt.
If it feels good, everyone wants to do it no matter what the consequences are or if others get hurt.
They just want to make more money, even if it’s for a while by selling drugs, prostitution or another crime.
We live in a time full of spiritually immature politicians that have a dishonest character; all they care about it their agenda. There are managers that take their business to bankruptcy as a tool to escape taxes, not caring about how many workers and small companies are affected.
Do not fall into society’s immaturity. Take advantage of every situation to mature and grow in the character of Christ.
Think about it:
How can you take advantage of the situations you are currently living?
What things have you learned or improved in because of the prior situations you have lived?
Do you believe God can do something good in spite of the negative situations?
