Free from despair

FREE FROM DESPAIR

Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return… James 5:7 NLT

There are occasions in which you wish time would go by faster, because you want the difficult situation you’re going through to end.

Other times, you just want to quickly pick up the harvest of the good things you have sown in the past.
There are three things we can do while we wait:

1. Be patient like the farmers.
The Bible says,

“… be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen”. James 5:7 NLT

2. Remember that the Lord is near.
This will give you hope and strength, because you will remember that your problem will not last forever, and that better days are to come.

3. Encourage others and allow them to encourage you.

You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near. James 5:8 NLT

An isolated person cannot encourage anybody nor can they be encouraged by anyone.

This is why it is good to be part of a small group in a House of Peace and to come to church, where you will meet with your spiritual family and encourage one another.

Think about it:

Have you been going through feelings of despair?
What are you willing to practice to be free from despair?
