TEMPTATION
– First, you must understand that temptation will never disappear in your life, while you’re in the world.
This will help you not feel like you’re a hopeless case and it will stop you from thinking you’re a perfect saint, because all humans are tempted.
– Second, don’t look “to split hairs”.
One thing is to be tempted, and another to intentionally look for problems, provoking situations in which you are most likely to fall.
If you’re an ex alcoholic, avoid environments where you are endangered to re-engage. If you are someone that is very depressive, then don’t listen to sentimental music that will make you feel worse.
Don’t look for trouble or you’ll find it!
– Third, if temptation progresses and becomes sin, then you need to rebuke it and make corrections.
While you’re in this world, you will be constantly tempted to break the ten commandments. Many times, you will sin consciously and unconsciously, still you shouldn’t be careless nor provoke temptation; if you avoid this, you will be less stressed, at peace and happier.
Think about it:
How have you managed temptation in your life? Have you caressed it or rejected it? What corrections do you need to make to align yourself with God?
