BUT OTHERS…
In the book of Hebrews, we find the hall of fame of the heroes of faith. Amongst them are many who conquered, did great things, and received what the Lord had promised them on earth. In this same hall of fame, we find heroes who also suffered in order to serve God.
Being a Christian and serving God, does not guarantee that we will not suffer on earth, but we can be sure that everything we go through will work for our own good (Romans 8:28).
But others (the heroes of faith) were not discouraged when they suffered insults and pain because of doing what was right. Keep acting with integrity, even if others do not do it. Continue placing God first in your life. Keep defending those who are weak. Continue serving in your church and sharing the hope of Jesus Christ with others.
Continue, remain firm, and do not give up, because your momentary suffering cannot be compared to the satisfaction and reward God has in store for you.
Think about it:
Can you say “but others” and remember those who set the example of faith after the major setback in your life?
What can you do to set your eyes on what is unseen (God’s eternal promises)?
