DISSAPEARING

Then Moses disappeared into the cloud as he climbed higher up the mountain. He remained on the mountain forty days and forty nights. Exodus 24:18 NLT

One of my desires is for the “self” inside of me to disappear more and more, so I can reflect Christ in my life and my actions.

The people lost sight of Moses as he was going up the mountain to speak with God. All they saw was a cloud.

But it was a process, the Bible says:

Then Moses disappeared into the cloud as he climbed higher up the mountain. Exodus 24:18 NLT

Three important phrases:

1. “He disappeared”
This speaks about a process. In life, we mature little by little and start looking more like Christ as we keep developing the fruits of the Holy Spirit, such as love and patience.

2. “In the cloud”
This reveals that the real purpose for our lives can only be found in God. We die to self and live for Christ.

3. “As he climbed higher up the mountain”
This refers to growing and reaching higher levels. We need to grow in His Word and climb the “mountain of prayer”. It’s to say, we should have a daily appointment with our Heavenly Father in our time of prayer.

We climb the mountain when we serve the Lord through serving others at our church every Sunday.

Then Moses disappeared into the cloud as he climbed higher up the mountain. He remained on the mountain forty days and forty nights. Exodus 24:18 NLT

Think about it:

What part of you needs to disappear?
What attitudes do you need to change?
