LIVE BY FAITH

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:1-3 KJV

Faith is to believe in God’s promises, to be convinced that they are true and to know that whatever we ask for will be done if it’s in His Word, because He is not a man to lie. When you have faith, you don’t care about what others say or think, all you care about is pleasing your Heavenly Father.

1. Faith produces honor to God. Hebrews 11:4
We display our faith when we give the best of ourselves. Honoring is giving the Lord our best, like your time, your strength, your talents, your gifts, or your resources.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. Hebrews 11:4 KJV

2. Faith pleases God. Hebrews 11:5
The Bible tells the story of Enoch, a man who never knew death, because he was a man who had a good testimony that pleased the Lord.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. Hebrews 11:5 KJV

3. Faith produces action. Hebrews 11:7
In the days of Noah, there were hardships to the point that God wanted to eradicate them. Noah was criticized for building an ark in a dry place. However, his faith not only saved him, but it also saved his family.

4. Faith produces conviction. Hebrews 11:8, 11
Abraham left his land without knowing where he was going, only believing, and walking by faith. Even though he didn’t have all the answers, he still left, because he was convinced that God was calling him. If you walk by sight, you will be guided by the world’s condition and by the bad news, but if you live by faith, then your thoughts will say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

Think About It:

How much do you believe God? How convinced are you that He will not fail you?
What changes do you have to make to increase your faith?
