THE DANGERS OF JUDGING
Although, human beings are easily inclined to judgement, the Bible constantly reminds us about several points that have to do with judging others.
1. You do not have the authority to judge others. God is the only One that can do so.
2. Judgement causes you to undervalue other people.
You will be unhappy at home, if you don’t value your spouse, your children, or your parents. You will be unhappy in your church, if you look down on those who are part of your spiritual family.
3. Remember that you will also be judged.
Judge with mercy, so that you also reap mercy.
Many times, people criticize, assume, and suppose certain things about others, and they talk to others about those things without even knowing the truth about those things; yet, even if we know the details about a certain situation, we must watch that we don’t destroy other’s reputation.
Criticism, can cause someone to stumble, it can harm their testimony, separate their families, and ruin their identity. We have to watch what we say before criticizing, because we might be the next victims.
In conclusion: Therefore, all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them… Matthew 7:12 KJV
Think About It:
What things have you assumed about others? Why? Was it just?
How can you avoid criticizing others? How do you hope God judges you?
