HOLINESS
You are an instrument dedicated to serve God. You have been set apart and separated for the Lord’s exclusive use. Therefore, do not let yourself be used by this world, because you were made to serve the Lord.
1. WHAT IS HOLINESS? Ezra 8:28
In the Hebrew and Greek languages, holy means “separated and set apart for God”. In other words, to be especially consecrated for a specific use, to be made, dedicated and available to Him.
It means devotion, to live in holiness is to live a life that is consecrated for the Lord, set apart from evil and sin, completely sold out to serve in the Kingdom of Heavens.
2. HOW DO YOU OBTAIN HOLINESS?
You sanctify yourself when you are separated from evil and impurities (Ephesians 4:22-24). You must put off the old man and put on the new man. This refers to letting go of the bad words, actions, habits, expressions, and bad conduct. All of this means you are set apart from sin and consecrated for Him.
3. WHAT ARE THE FRUIT THAT COME FROM HOLINESS? Galatians 5:17-24
The fruit of holiness is visible when someone is whole heartedly committed to God. It is also the result of the repentance of sin and faith in Jesus.
4. WHAT IS THE REWARD OF SANCTIFYING YOURSELF?
You receive the Heavenly Father’s inheritance and see the greatness of His power and glory (Hebrews 12:14).
You are kept. Holiness is a weapon of defense. It keeps you clean and pure. Satan cannot steal, kill, or destroy a son of God (Psalms 37:28).
You give a good testimony. Your holiness helps you testify to those who do not know Christ. Holiness is manifested when you set a testimony of His supernatural power that can also transform others’ lives.
Think about it:
How can you sanctify yourself this week?
Why is it important to be consecrated?
