Remember to rest

REMEMBER TO REST

Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, a holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings. Leviticus 23:3 KJV

God is concerned about your spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical health. This is why, we must make the effort to rest and recover our physical, emotional and spiritual strength.

If you do not rest on a regular basis, you will be like a car that has no fuel and thateventually no longer works, instead its left in the middle of the highway disturbing the lanes for other drivers. You will hamper your marriage, studies, job and even lose the energy to serve God,because you didn’t take the time to rest.

“You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of complete rest, an official day for holy assembly. It is the Lord’s Sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live. Leviticus 23:3 NLT

1. Pursue to rest one day out of the week at the House of Peace while you sing, serve, or listen to a good teaching from the Bible.

2. It is recommended that you rest daily by having a time of prayer.
In order to do this, do your best to sleep half an hour earlier than what you are used to sleeping, even though this might mean you have to stop watching the late news on television.

3. Rest in your marriage. Go and have lunch with your spouse once a week. Then, every three months leave the kids home and spend a night at a hotel with your significant other. Lastly, every year take a week off and go on a vacation. This will maintain your marital health.

“You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of complete rest, an official day for holy assembly. It is the Lord’s Sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live. Leviticus 23:3 NLT

Think about it:

How have you been resting lately?
How can you recharge your strength and take time to rest this week?
