They remained firm

THEY REMAINED FIRM

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42 NIV

Here we have three elements in which the disciples in the primitive church persevered, and the elements we also should practice on a continual basis in order to live wisely.

1. The apostles’ teachings.
It is important that we never stop learning the life lessons we find in the Bible.

2. Fellowship.
We were not created to live in isolation. We are social beings. We must pursue to develop community and fellowship with people of faith. Let’s join a house of peace, a ministry, or a small group in the church.

3. Prayer.
Someone said: “A lot of prayer, a lot of power. Little prayer, little power. No prayer, no power.”
The most challenging battles are won on our knees.
We should never despise the power that prayer has to help us be successful during the problems we face in marriage, health, or our finances.

Today, what do you need to bring to God in prayer? Ask someone you trust in your house of peace to help you pray for that situation.

Think about it:

In which of these threeelements do you need to remain firm?
What can you do to make close friends that will help you grow in your faith?
