Where is your heart?

WHERE IS YOUR HEART?

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21 KJV

Do you want to discover what you love the most? Just take a look at your agenda and your checkbook; then you will see what you treasure the most. Usually, your heart is fixed on what you most value, and on those things you have invested most of your effort and dedication.

Do you make the effort to work over-time just to make some extra money, yet you don’t have time to care for your marriage nor to be involved in the activities your children do at school? Most likely, you have let yourself be driven by materialism, and that is where your treasure is and that is what your heart has followed.

Maybe, you have time to party, to watch sports and to even have a social drink with your friends, but still you say that you’re too tired to serve your church or attend a House of Peace. In order to avoid neglecting what truly is important in life, like your relationship with God and your family, you need to prioritize.

Here at Eagles Christian Family Center, we prioritize in the following way: first, we put God first, which means that we cultivate our relationship with Him. Second, our family, which includes our marriage and home. Third, the ministry, we serve the Lord and people; and fourth, our jobs, the means we use to maintain our families.

The way you invest your time and your money quickly reveal what is most important to you and it determines where your heart will end up, because your heart pursues what you consider a treasure. Make sure you order your priorities so that you never regret not caring for the true eternal treasures, such as your relationship with God, your family and people.

“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.  Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:19-21 NLT
