It’s a decision to be stupid or intelligent

IT’S A DECISION TO BE STUPID OR INTELLIGENT

“To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction” (Proverbs 12:1 NLT).

The stupid person is stupid, not because God has made them inferior, but because the decided to have an attitude that was not very intelligent. We have been given a free will to make our own decisions voluntarily, every decision we make has the power to impact our future in a positive or negative way.

People choose to make “stupid” decisions due to rebellion or foolishness. There are individuals that simply don’t like to be corrected, who don’t let anyone discipline them or teach them the right way. They think they are wise in their own understanding and they don’t want to learn from others. Therefore, they keep tripping over the same stone and they don’t see new results in their lives.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT).

The Word of God also exhorts us when it tells us not to waste our time or strength with those who do not want to be corrected, because these people do not want to change. Do you know someone like this? Or, is this you?

“So don’t bother correcting mockers; they will only hate you. But correct the wise, and they will love you. Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more” (Proverbs 9:8-9 NLT).

Invest your life, money, time, and words in wise people who will value your advice. Do not waste your resources on the foolish and lazy people, because they will continue thinking they “know it all” and their pride won’t let them mature.

“Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others” (Proverbs 12:15 NLT).

Think about it:

What kind of person will you decide to be today?

What kind of attitude will your decisions reflect?
