The death room

THE DEATH ROOM

“Don’t let your hearts stray away toward her… For she has been the ruin of many; many men have been her victims. Her house is the road to the grave. Her bedroom is the den of death” (Proverbs 7:25-27 NLT).

What is considered the death room? This refers to the place where adultery, fornication, and all other sexual relations that are not within marriage happen.

We all know that in this passage God is speaking to the men about the dangers of having sexual intercourse with a prostitute. However, we can also apply this to all kinds of sexual relations between a man and a woman that are not married, which are unacceptable before the God.

The problem with humanity is that we want instant gratification, we want to satisfy all kinds of pleasures without considering the consequences.

Why doesn’t God accept sexual relations out of marriage? Could it be that He wants to give us a hard time? The truth is He cares about your wellbeing. He knows how adultery and any other kind of fornication can affect your emotions, your health, and your family. It takes one chance to infect your body with sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis, gonorrhea, HPV, and aids. A few minutes of pleasure is enough time to ruin your children and family’s happiness.

The Bible says:

“For a prostitute will bring you to poverty, but sleeping with another man’s wife will cost you your life” (Proverbs 6:26 NLT). “So listen to me, my sons, and pay attention to my words” (Proverbs 7:24 NLT).

I have seen men and women cry wanting to go back in time and make wiser decisions. All this people can do is cry and pray to God for a second chance to recover the losts that sometimes come as part of the consequences. Choose to be wise and stay away from the death room.

“He followed her at once, like an ox going to the slaughter. He was like a stag caught in a trap, awaiting the arrow that would pierce its heart. He was like a bird flying into a snare, little knowing it would cost him his life” (Proverbs 7:22-23 NLT).

Think about it:

Which way is your life heading? How can you pay attention to the Heavenly Father’s words?
