The lazy person’s house

THE LAZY PERSON’S HOUSE

“I walked by the field of a lazy person, the vineyard of one with no common sense” (Proverbs 24:30 NLT).

It doesn’t matter what project you hand over to a lazy person, they will never make it flourish. The idle do not multiply nor prosper in what they do. They do not finish their studies, they do not start their own business, they simply have good intentions, but they lack the discipline and good common sense to make things happen. They continue to leave projects half way through, they give up at the first problem they face, and they do not fight for their family or ministry. They are careless, because they lack passion.

What happens to a lazy person?

“I saw that it was overgrown with nettles. It was covered with weeds, and its walls were broken down” (Proverbs 24:31 NLT).

1. Thorns grow in their houses. Thorns don’t look very nice nor are they comfortable. In fact, they choke healthy plants, they choke marriages, health, ministries, finances and productive lives.

“Other seeds fell among thorns that grew up and choked out the tender plants” (Matthew 13:7 NLT).

2. Weeds grow in their houses. Weeds refer to plants who do not bear fruit. People like this never prosper. They are mediocre at work; they lose their employment and the opportunities to have their own business.

3. Their walls are destroyed. Usually, lazy people live with their financial walls destroyed, because they go through a lot of need and their mental and physical health is affected by the stress that is caused due to their lack of resources.

“Then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber” (Proverbs 24:34 NLT).

Think about it:

What kind of house do you have?
What kind of person are you?
