The Lord will reward you

THE LORD WILL REWARD YOU

“Yes, I know,” Boaz replied. “But I also know about everything you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband. I have heard how you left your father and mother and your own land to live here among complete strangers. May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done” (Ruth 2:11-12 KJV).

Your reward depends on who you believe and on who you make relationships with. Let’s see Ruth’s example…

1. She did not leave her mother in law Naomi, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you” (Ruth 1:16 NIV).

2. She followed Naomi. “Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay” (Ruth 1:16 NIV).

3. She accepted her people and her God. “Your people will be my people and your God my God” (Ruth 1:16 NIV).

4. She adopted her land. “…where you stay I will stay…” (Ruth 1:16 NIV).

5. She was committed to her until death. “Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried” (Ruth 1:17 NIV).
Faithfulness, loyalty, obedience, honor and love will bring incredible retributions just as it happened to Ruth. When you have these five elements, God rewards you and blesses you with the following:

1. Divine favor. (Ruth 2:14)
2. Abundant provision. (Ruth 2:14)
3. Protection. (Ruth 2:15-16)
4. A blessed legacy. (Ruth 4:17)

“Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!” 29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life” (Mark 10:28-30 NIV).

Think about it:

What kind of people do you have relationships with?
According to Ruth’s actions, which steps must you take to receive your blessings from God?
