WHY SHOULD YOU BE MOTIVATED TO OBEY?
At Eagles, we have the mission to win souls and make disciples. The Lord also told us to teach people to obey His instructions that are given to us in His Word. Why obey? Is it an imposition, or is obedience a voluntary decision for every person to make?
God does not obligate anyone. He has given us a free will, the capacity to exercise our will, to choose voluntarily what we want to do. However, we must also remember that voluntary obedience brings more blessings to our life.
1.- God promises to be with us all the days of our lives. Imagine, if God is with you then you have guaranteed success in the things you do in life.
2.- We receive extra blessings.
How many blessings can you find in the following verses?
“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:
Your towns and your fields
will be blessed.
Your children and your crops
will be blessed.
The offspring of your herds and flocks
will be blessed.
Your fruit baskets and breadboards
will be blessed.
Wherever you go and whatever you do,
you will be blessed.
All the blessings you find in the verses above are promises from God that are released over your life when you obey His commandments. There are many more blessings that are stored for you that you may not have received yet because you haven’t fully obeyed the Lord. Decide to take a step of obedience today.
Think About It:
What are the benefits of obedience?
What are you doing with the free will God gave you? What types of decisions are you making?
