Wisdom delivers you from pain

WISDOM DELIVERS YOU FROM PAIN

Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding”
(Proverbs 2:2 NLT).

Wisdom will open doors for success, but it will also help you avoid unnecessary pain. Being wise means to fear God and to obey His commandments. Many times, people suffer in life because they turn to the left or to the right, which diverts them from God’s plans for their lives.
Let’s view the following benefits that wisdom brings:

1. It delivers you from making bad decisions.
Perhaps, you have gotten yourself into many problems due to bad decisions in your emotional, family, financial or vocational life. Thus, the Bible says that wisdom has the power to keep us from the consequences that bad decisions bring.

“For wisdom, will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.  Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe” (Proverbs 2:10-11 NLT).

2. It delivers you from evil people.
The Heavenly Father gives you wisdom through the Bible so you can learn to choose your friends and connect with people of faith that will add value to your life.
The Word of God says:

“Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted. These men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths. They take pleasure in doing wrong, and they enjoy the twisted ways of evil” (Proverbs 2:12-14 NLT).

3. It delivers you from sexual sin and its shameful consequences.
Sometimes people think God is punishing them for their sins, but they are only experiencing the consequences. Wisdom will open your eyes to help you avoid falling into the enemy’s traps.

“Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman, from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman. She has abandoned her husband and ignores the covenant she made before God. Entering her house leads to death; it is the road to the grave. The man who visits her is doomed. He will never reach the paths of life” (Proverbs 2:16-19 NLT).

You can receive wisdom when you read the Word and when you pray, but you can also receive wisdom when you stay close to your mentor and obey their direction for your life. In the world, the closest thing we have from God is our spiritual leader.

“For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2:6 NLT).

Think about it:

Where does true wisdom come from? How can you obtain it?
