How to complete great projects Part 1

HOW TO COMPLETE GREAT PROJECTS Part 1

“When Solomon had finished building the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had achieved all he had desired to do” (1 Kings 9:1 NIV).

Take note of the key words for today’s reflection: finished, temple, palace, all and desired.

It is of great importance that you learn how to plan and manage your time in everything you do, because a lack of personal organization can divert the great projects you want to complete. Not knowing what your priorities are and not knowing how to differentiate what’s urgent and what’s important can demoralize the accomplishment of your personal goals. That’s why today and tomorrow we will talk about three necessary principles to complete those important projects. Here is the first one:

1. Plans
Planning what you want to do with your life is very important. The Bible says that Solomon “had achieved all he had desired to do” (1 Kings 9:1 NIV). This means that he laid down and meditated, in other words he planned what he wanted to accomplish. In order to focus on something and work on it effectively you must prioritize the most important tasks to complete your projects.

Before starting your day, you must know what you plan on doing that day. Don’t allow time to control you, instead control your day by managing your time. Everyone has the same time you and I have, however the difference is made in how you manage that time. You will not be able to do anything significant in this life if you don’t first develop a plan for your life. Will you study or will you be a secular business person? Do you know what age is the most convenient for you to get married or will you get married once your girlfriend gets pregnant? Will you graduate college before getting married or vice versa? Are you going to have kids just as they come and once you’re recently married or will you prepare the way so that in the future your children are successful? Will you make a budget? How much do you need to save each month in order to retire at the age you desire?

Remember, if you don’t know how to plan then you won’t be able to guide your life towards success.

Think about it:

How can you plan for tomorrow and get closer to completing your projects?
How can you administer your time today and be more productive?
