The blessings are for the sons and daughters

THE BLESSINGS ARE FOR THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.  When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching,  because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law” (Matthew 7:24-29 NIV).

The Bible tells the story of Jesus and a woman who was not Jewish. She had come to Jesus desperately asking him to heal his daughter whom had been oppressed by the devil. In that moment, the Lord seemed to be indifferent to her need, but he was only teaching us that in order to receive blessings from heaven it’s necessary to transition from being creation to being sons and daughters. In order to become sons and daughters we need to understand the following truths.

1. GOD LOVES US AND HAS A WONDERFUL PLAN FOR OUR LIVES.

When God created mankind, He wanted them to be happy, to have direct access to Him, and to oversee the rest of His creation; but, man sinned which caused them to be separated from God.

However, God had a plan to ransom mankind by sending his Son to die on the cross for all humanity so that he would be a bridge that would restore God’s relationship with His beloved creation.

2. WE HAVE ALL SINNED AND BEEN SEPARATED FROM GOD.

Sin is the separation of God and man, which originated in Genesis chapter three when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Sin is the rejection of man towards the Lord’s will, and choosing instead to do their own will. It is to choose another path, seeking personal satisfaction without taking the Father into consideration. Are you making God a part of your life? Are you seeking to please Him or satisfy yourself?

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NIV).

3. JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO SALVATION.

Jesus is the only way to reconcile with God, to have peace and to enjoy an abundant life. There is no other way to return to the Father, Jesus is the bridge that united us to Him.

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6 NIV).

There is a wonderful plan for all of us here on earth, and to accomplish this plan it’s necessary to take an important step, and that is to acknowledge that we need God and that we need a change in our lives. This change is produced through Jesus Christ whom is our salvation.

Think about it:

Why is it important to transition from just being creation to being sons and daughters?

How can you become a son or daughter of God?
