YOU HAVE A LONG-TERM ASSIGNMENT
This verse states that Samuel carried on his God-given assignment throughout his entire life. He exercised his function as a judge until completing the task.
Have you ever met people who leave things half-way? These individuals do not complete their projects nor education plans; they leave their marriage half-way and they abandon their ministries.
I have seen some deliberate people who start to serve the Lord with lots of excitement, they want to participate in everything, and if it were possible they’d stay in church every day; but suddenly something happens. They begin to get distracted by the daily temptations of the world and soon stop serving the Lord, because they’ve returned to their past life and stopped fulfilling their God-given purpose.
On the other hand, Samuel was different and he accomplished his assignment until he died.
The point isn’t to start, but to finish what you start.
It’s easy to start something, but only the brave can finish what they’ve started.
The simple-minded start well, but the wise make sure they finish well.
I want to achieve God’s assignment and purpose in my spiritual, family, social and financial areas for the rest of my life; and not only that, but I want to start and finish my assignment with excellence.
Think about it:
What long-term assignment are you supposed to accomplish?
How do you know you are making the effort in achieving the assignment God has given you for the rest of your life?
