YOUR PART IS NOT MY PART
The part your spiritual pastor or mentor plays is very important, but yours is too.
First, I as your pastor will constantly pray for you. I will remember you in my prayers; I will intercede for those needs you have shared with me like your family, health and finances. I will also lay hands over you when you come to the altar at church, and will gladly pray for you.
Secondly, as your pastor I will constantly teach you God’s Word. The Bible will always be our infallible guide when it comes to our faith and conduct.
The Word says that prophet Samuel told the people that he would pray for them and teach them, but that they also had to apply what they had learned in order to have success. Samuel’s responsibility was to teach them, and the people’s responsibility was to align themselves to what they had learned.
Lastly, you are responsible for what you do with what your pastor teaches you. You will come to church or the House of Peace and receive practical teachings from the Bible, which will give direction to your life and help you make good decisions.
Furthermore, I cannot make decisions for you, I cannot get up and look for a job for you, I cannot go to college and graduate for you, I cannot forgive and let go of bitterness for you, I cannot eat healthy for you, nor can I practice the 10-10-80 principle in your financial life. However, I am here to instruct and inspire you to do your part.
Think about it:
What have you learned in the Bible that you still haven’t practiced?
What do you need to act upon and not only pray about?
