After you die, will people say you put God first?

AFTER YOU DIE, WILL PEOPLE SAY YOU PUT GOD FIRST?

“Never before had there been a king like Josiah, who turned to the Lord with all his heart and soul and strength, obeying all the laws of Moses. And there has never been a king like him since” (2 Kings 23:25 NLT).

What will people say about us after we die? What will God think? What legacy will we leave behind?

Though thousands of years have passed, we still read about a governor named Josiah who till this day is an inspiration for us. He did many things that are recorded in the book of Kings, such as: brining a reform to his people, bringing a blessed period in his time and helping his society progress. However, all his actions were produced because of his conviction in putting God first in his life. Thus, the principle of “God is First” formed his character and led his actions in life.

“Never before had there been a king like Josiah, who turned to the Lord with all his heart and soul and strength, obeying all the laws of Moses. And there has never been a king like him since” (2 Kings 23:25 NLT).

Just as Josiah put the Lord first, you too need to learn to put Him first in the following areas:

1. God is first in your heart.
2. God is first in your soul.
3. God is first in your strength, meaning, your actions.

It’s easier to obey God and have success in life when you are aligned to Him in your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Only then, will you be prospered in all you do.

This is why Jesus said, “And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] No other commandment is greater than these” (Mark 12:30-31 NLT).

Think about it:

What does it mean to put God first?
What will be said of you when you are no longer on earth?
