Are not entrusted to just anyone

THE IMPORTANT THINGS

ARE NOT ENTRUSTED TO JUST ANYONE

“Elisha the prophet had summoned a member of the group of prophets. “Get ready to travel,” he told him, “and take this flask of olive oil with you. Go to Ramoth-gilead, and find Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. Call him into a private room away from his friends, and pour the oil over his head. Say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: I anoint you to be the king over Israel.’ Then open the door and run for your life!” (2 Kings 9:1-3 NLT).

This young man had the privilege of being sent to bless and establish a king. This prophet’s name is not mentioned in the Bible, all it says is that Elisha, “summoned a member of the group of prophets”. However, this makes me think that he had to be someone that was very trustworthy in Elisha’s team.

God wants to do great things in this world, but He cannot delegate these things just to anyone. This is why, the Lord seeks trustworthy people like the following:

1. The Lord needs people who are humble, people that don’t care if their name is mentioned or not.

“Elisha the prophet had summoned a member of the group of prophets” (2 Kings 9:1 NLT).

2. The Lord is looking for people who know how to follow directions while paying attention to detail.
In the following passage, count the number of instructions that Elisha gave this young man:

“Get ready to travel… and take this flask of olive oil with you.

How many directions has God given you? Have you obeyed them or have you questioned them?

3. God is seeking men and women that are faithful, loyal, committed and obedient. Men and women that simply do what they are told.

“So the young prophet did as he was told and went to Ramoth-gilead” (2 Kings 9:4 NLT).

Think about it:

How do you know you qualify as someone that can be trusted with a project or a higher position?
What important things have been entrusted to you right now?
