Filled with the Holy Spirit

FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

“But as for me, I am filled with power— with the Spirit of the Lord. I am filled with justice and strength to boldly declare Israel’s sin and rebellion” (Micha 3:8 NLT).

What powerful and firm words from Micha. If we were to have everything that Micha had, the enemy wouldn’t be able to harm us. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit this brings us rest and keeps us in holiness, with our eyes set on God, remaining just, and in peace with God and others here on earth. The Holy Spirit leads us to be just and to speak the truth! It keeps our hearts healthy by reminding us that nothing is about us, but everything is about God and that everything is by God! Now, what was Micha filled with?

1. He was full of the power of God.
Micha wasn’t full of personal power or pride because of his position or assignment, instead he was full of the Lord’s supernatural power; and it was this that gave him the authority to boldly declare Israel’s rebellion (Micha 3:8 NLT).

2. He was full of God’s Holy Spirit.
He was not full of trash nor demands or problems in life. You see, when we are full of these things this gives the enemy a foot hold so that we don’t advance and instead become stagnant. This is why, we must pursue to live in holiness and remain full of His presence.

3. He was full of justice.
Justice is not only what keeps us straight before the Lord, but it is also what keeps us grateful with Him and people.

4. He was full of strength to keep fighting.
If you are just, then you have the right to stand in front of the battle and fight. When you are just, you are strong and you will not fall, but if you have been unjust with someone in the battle field then you might end up getting hurt.

We cannot teach others or boldly declare something we have not practiced, that would be false! Many times, we teach knowledge, but not values, we teach the Word and we are eloquent when preaching, but we don’t live what we preach. Therefore, the best example of our faith and conduct are said and witnessed by those who live with us at home, because they know who we truly are. Let’s keep ourselves full of the Lord’s presence, despite the assignment we have on earth, and in this way, we will be like Micha.

Think about it:

What things in your life do you need to boldly declare in order to live full of the Spirit of God?
How can you be just today? Who or what can you be grateful for today?
