God first in your thoughts

GOD FIRST IN YOUR THOUGHTS

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT).

Have you ever seen the power of something that is concentrated? For example, food, soap, or a concentrated chemical. Now, with that in mind I ask you, what concentration do you have in your thoughts?

This week I had the opportunity to clearly experience the difference my thoughts actually make. There were a few occasions, where I gave myself the permission to carefully think about some sad and frustrating situations, and I was able to clearly see how my state of mind was affected for a few hours. I had to force myself to think about more pleasant situations to recover my emotional peace.

During one of these occasions, I was thinking about a real-life history movie that had to do with a person that was in the army. I enjoy watching movies that are based on heroic characters of the world. However, this movie had more of an emphasis on this person’s suffering rather than his good actions.  This movie didn’t show enough lives being saved nor did it show the result of this character’s heroic work. This affected me for a while, and it wasn’t till I realized it that I went to the Bible to read something that spoke about justice and kindness in order to recover my peace of mind and calmly go to bed that night (Philippians 4:8, Psalm 4:8).

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT).

I want to share one of the four ways in which you can concentrate your thoughts on God to maintain your peace. The following way you’re about to read is one of the most powerful weapons you can use. Often, the average Christian loses the battle in their mind, because they do not remember the Word during the times that the enemy shoots darts at them. Let’s view the following way…

1.- Reading God’s words.
Social media bombards us with bad news every day. We need to read the Lord’s good news, which is found in the Bible, His Word. This is the only way we can keep our state of mind in the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Think about it:

Why is it so important to watch your thoughts?
What kind of attitude have your thoughts produced in you?
