Important things in a room Part 2

IMPORTANT THINGS IN A ROOM PART 2

“She said to her husband, “I am sure this man who stops in from time to time is a holy man of God. Let’s build a small room for him on the roof and furnish it with a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp” (2 Kings 4:9-10 NLT).

Yesterday we spoke about the bed and the table in prophet Elisha’s room and their significance. Today we will break down the previous verse to discover the last two important things in his room.

3. The chair.
This talks about prayer. A place where you sit down to reflect on your day or to plan the next week. You see, you need to stop running around not knowing what to do and instead take a seat and reflect on how you have been acting in your marriage, at church, job or at school. Take the time to sit down and meditate, read your Bible, and write a thought like the one I wrote today.

Take time to plan, write down and prioritize the five most important tasks you need to accomplish every day. You will be surprised when you see the increase of growth and productivity in your work.

4. The lamp.
This talks about the light found in the Word of God. What does the light mean? The light is the lamp that guides our steps in life to walk in light and not in darkness, and to have a clear vision and purpose in our daily walk.

The Bible says:

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105 NIV).

The Bible must be your guide in order to have a successful life, and when you are confused because of the different opinions people have, the Bible will be your reference point. Fashion, philosophies, and cultures pass, but the Bible will not change, evolve, or pass. It has been said that “every mind is an island”, but the Word remains and you can trust that it will be a light on your path that will keep you from stumbling in darkness and shame. His commandments are an eternal light for your feet.

“Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands” (Psalm 119:6 NIV).

Think about it:

Do you have these important things in your room? How are you making use of them in your daily life?
What are the five most important tasks in your day? How can you plan today?
