TREAT OTHERS WITH MERCY PART I
If you are someone who exercises a certain kind of authority such as being a coach, church leader, a leader at your school, a supervisor at your job, etc. then you will be interested in learning these four virtues that a person who has a leadership position must have.
In this verse, the Lord tells His people that He would give them a leader who possess the following four characteristics. Today we will see two of these qualities and tomorrow we will learn about the rest.
Two virtues that a person in a position of leadership must have:
1. Mercy.
Leaders have a certain kind of patience with those who make mistakes, they continue to believe in others despite their defects, they give them new opportunities and help them improve themselves.
Mercy is one of God’s characteristics. He shows His mercy with us through being patient. How many times has the Lord lifted us? Every day. His mercy is like the morning sun.
2. Truth.
This kind of person speaks and lives according to the truth. This is a trustworthy leader. People don’t have to worry about this type of individual, because they know they will not lie, for they have integrity and character.
The Bible says:
God the Father is pleased with us, his children, when we live in truth and are honest with Him and people. It pleases Him when we model a good testimony in and out of the church, because we represent Jesus Christ here on earth.
Think about it:
Who do you need to show mercy to today?
Are you being honest with your business, your family, your church, and people? What will you do different today to practice integrity?
