HOW TO RELAX TODAY
Difficulties will not disappear while we are in this world, there will always be problems and challenges to overcome day after day. The good news is that we do not have to live stressed or worn out due to the issues and struggles in life, because we can find rest and refuge in God’s presence.
Let me present someone who is good, strong and very close to you. In the above verse, I see three things that can help me relax, live happily and confident today:
1. The Lord is good.
This phrase helps me remember that when things get tough it’s not God’s fault, He isn’t the author of evil. Our problems are caused by different factors. Sometimes they are caused because of our ignorance, because of others or because of our sin and wrong decisions. When I cannot explain why bad things happen, I can rest in the fact that God is still good.
2. The Lord is my refuge.
What do you do when a big storm surprises you in the street? What do you do when the United States’ emergency system notifies you of a tornado or flood heading your way? Catastrophes will continue to happen, but your refuge and help comes from the Lord who is your strong tower and who is always ready to save you with His strong arm.
3. He is close to those who trust in Him.
Many times, during the storms we experience in our families, finances, and work place we think that God is far from us. Other times we feel as if we have failed Him, so we think He has departed from us. However, the Bible says that if we trust in the Lord then He will be close to us.
It doesn’t matter what hardship you might be facing or if your faith is being stretched, if you trust in the Almighty God everything will be okay. For after the rain, the sun will come out. Learn to rest in the Heavenly Father and praise Him during the times of testing, and you will see that everything else will be okay, because He is with you.
Think about it:
What will you do today to relax?
In what or who have you put your trust?
