May your eyes be open

MAY YOUR EYES BE OPEN

“May your eyes be open toward this temple day and night, this place of which you said you would put your Name there. May you hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place” (2 Chronicles 6:20 NIV).

My prayer is that God’s eyes may be opened toward me, that He clearly tells me His perfect will for my life because I know this will benefit many people.

I pray…

1. That your eyes be opened in my house.
Lord, keep your eyes open in my home and in the church so that you see what I am doing every day and so you lead me and approve of what I am doing well and what I need to adjust.

What things do you approve and what things do you not approve? What activity do I need to stop doing because it’s a waste of time? What should I continue doing and what new project should I start?

Lord, keep your eyes open because the welfare of many people depends on the decisions I make and the teachings I give. I need your guidance.

2. That your name is in my house.
Lord I pray that your name is honored in my house, that your name is exalted with our actions and attitudes, that your name is always on our lips so that my family and descendants make your name known for evermore, and so we leave behind a legacy of excellence.

3. That you hear the prayers I make in my home.
Every morning I get up, I ask you to listen to my cry and my daily prayers. That you incline your ear toward me and that you fulfill your promises in my house, with my family and my upcoming generations.

Finally, I pray that you lead me toward the right path, that you go with me wherever I go and that you show me your glory. For where I am today you brought me, who I am today you made me and where I am going you are taking me.

“May your eyes be open toward this temple day and night, this place of which you said you would put your Name there. May you hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place” (2 Chronicles 6:20 NIV).

Think about it:

What are you praying to God every morning?
What activity do you need to stop that might just be a waste of your time?
