Overcome your lions

OVERCOME YOUR LIONS

“… Another time, on a snowy day, he chased a lion down into a pit and killed it” (1 Chronicles 11:22 NLT).

If you are like me and you have seen a lion up close, most likely it was at a zoo where the lion was in a cage behind bars, and if you are a normal and sane person, I am sure you did not try to get in the cage to eat and chat with the lion. Normally, when a person sees a lion, they run or hide in a safe place to save their life.

Can you imagine this brave man chasing after a lion? This makes me think about those lions in our life that we need to face, meaning, those big God-given dreams, the big projects, or even those fears and traumas in life that we still carry and that stop us from having success.

“… a valiant warrior from Kabzeel. He did many heroic deeds, which included killing two champions of Moab. Another time, on a snowy day, he chased a lion down into a pit and killed it” (1 Chronicles 11:22 NLT).

We need to dare to chase after those lions.

Dare to do great things. If your dreams are based on logic and you’re able to achieve them easily with your own abilities, then they’re not big enough.

God’s projects are those that scare us and make us think, “Wow, God better help me with this or else I’m destined to fail. The only way I can achieve this is if God supernaturally intervenes”. These are the type of dreams that you must endeavor to achieve with the Lord on your side. Also, these are the kinds of fears that God will use to make you braver and show you that you are more than an overcomer.

Think about it:

What lions do you need to chase after or overcome?

What dreams have you postponed because you fear failure?
