We can be carriers of the good news

WE CAN BE CARRIERS OF THE GOOD NEWS

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed” (Isaiah 61:1 NLT).

God fills you with His Holy Spirit with an objective. Look at this note someone wrote to Pastor Dinora and I a few days ago:

“God bless you, do you remember me? Well, I am the young lady that told you I was going to divorce my husband. I want to tell you that my husband went to the most recent 3 Days of Power retreat. Well, the divorce has been canceled and I have returned home to live with my husband again. I don’t know if you remember, but we were the couple who went to the front with our two kids when my husband was giving his testimony. Now, we are both attending the post-retreat classes.

All this happened because of God, and of course because we had been praying in our House of Peace for this to happen. I just wanted to share this with both of you, since God has restored our marriage and now we are both attending church. Thank you for your prayers pastors.”

If you pay attention to the people at your job or school, you will see that most people live more worried than normal. The percentage of Americans who suffer from stress increases every year. They are heartbroken and sometimes prisoners of wounds they have suffered in the past, such as bitterness or depression. Perhaps you are like these people. Nevertheless, there is good news. Look at what the Bible says:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me… He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim… prisoners will be freed” (Isaiah 61:1 NLT).

Fortunately, God has created a spiritual family called Church, where He pours out His Holy Spirit, where we find healing, and share that healing with others, just like the previous note you read from someone who wrote to me this week.

At a bar, people are full of an atmosphere that many times is made of disputes, divorces, addictions and destruction of families. However, God fills your church with His Holy Spirit and creates an atmosphere of healing for the broken and freedom for the oppressed.

This is why people benefit a whole lot from being part of small groups or Houses of Peace at ECFC. By the way, are you part of a small group or spiritual family?

“He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come…” (Isaiah 61:2 NLT).

Think about it:

How can you be benefitted by joining a small group?
How are you blessing those who surround you, such as your family and friends?
