When you go through

WHEN YOU GO THROUGH

“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2 NLT).

Do you remember the tests you use to have at school? The goal wasn’t to avoid these exams, but to pass them with good grades. Our outstanding grades demonstrated our outstanding knowledge and preparation for life. In the same way, we must pass and exceed the tests of life. The objective isn’t for us not to face suffering or challenges, but to learn to overcome them with maturity, while not losing our peace.

Being a Christian doesn’t guarantee that we will not go through difficult situations, but it does guarantee that we will get through them, meaning, we will overcome them. We will not stay stagnant, we will pass through them.

1. We all go through tests.

Being tested helps us refine the kind of person we are, they refine the gold within us. They give us the opportunity to see God work in our favor.

2. The person who does not take God into account.

This kind of person will most likely not pass the test far less receive an outstanding grade. This person is destined to go from failure to failure. They are people who choose to be bitter instead of overcoming their situations. They lose their joy and curse life.

3. The person who puts God first in their life.

This kind of person has a written warranty. God’s great promise for us isn’t that we pass each test with outstanding grades, but that we pass the tests without having to reprove them. You will pass this test, you won’t remain stagnant in it.

Therefore, steady your heart throughout the tests of life. God will never leave you nor forsake you, He has promised to be by your side and He has given you the gift of peace that surpasses all understanding, so that you no longer are anxious in times of testing, but rested in Him.

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So, don’t be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27 NLT).

Remember, you are only going through the test, you will not stay in it. Keep going forward with God on your side.

“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2 NLT).

Think about it:

What test are you going through at this moment?
Are you feeling anxious or without strength? How can you recover your peace and strength to continue going forward?
