You weren’t born on accident

YOU WEREN’T BORN ON ACCIDENT

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5 NLT).

If you believed that you were born because your mother and father had sexual intercourse, or because of any other coincidence in life, then you need to read the following Bible passage:

God says:

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5 NLT).

Notice that your life did not begin the moment you were conceived in your mother’s womb. Pay attention to the words that God is saying:

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb…” (Jeremiah 1:5 NLT).

God put something special in you and He brought you to this land with a specific purpose. Jeremiah was set apart before he was formed in his mother’s womb. In other words, God gave Jeremiah a specific purpose before he was in his mother’s womb so that he could be a prophet in this world.

Maybe God didn’t set you apart to be a prophet, but I am sure that He brought you to this world with a purpose, that you are not an accident, and that you do have something great to do on earth. Perhaps you are the next distinctive lawyer in the city, the next Nobel prize winner, or the next governor of the state or even a surgeon, teacher or an entrepreneur.

If you’re one of those people who say, “I don’t know how to serve God”, then read what the Bible says:

“O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!” The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Jeremiah 1:6-8 NLT).

Not all of us are prophets, but we are all full-time ministers. You might be wearing a professional baseball player’s uniform or a lawyers uniform, but underneath that disguise you are a full-time minister. God not only brought you to the world to make money or to be famous, He brought you to the world to be a minister in disguise destined to be a blessing unto others.

Think about it:

How do you know you are living with purpose?
What activities do you need to set aside in order to fulfill your purpose?
