GOD IS PRESENT IN YOUR HURT
Hurt is inevitable in life and it can be characterized as a loss, such as losing a loved one, a job, a son, or finances. However, the Word of the Lord gives us the following promises in order to bring us comfort.
1. God is not the author of our hurt.
Many times, we think that God allows us to go through certain pain like sickness or domestic violence, but that is not so. We go through hurt because we live in a fallen world, and while we live in it, we will have to be brave so that God can transform our hurt into victory.
2. God knows our hurt.
God understands what you are going through, but He is also the only One who knows what you are feeling. Though you express your hurt to other people and though they are able to understand you are suffering, they will not be able to say that they know what you are feeling, because we are all different.
The only one who carried the sin and suffering of the world on his shoulders was Jesus, the son of God. He is the one who knows what you are feeling and who desires to comfort you with his infinite love.
3. Hurt is transitory, it will not last forever.
When we go through loss we go through a process of hurt that feels like it will never end, it feels like the suffering will last forever, but just as there are seasons and just as time exists on earth, everything we go through while we are in the world will also be temporary, not eternal.
4. God guarantees that the time will come when He will turn our mourning into joy, when we will be a people who help others, and once again, we will be productive in life.
Do not lose hope during times of hurt. Go ahead and grieve all you want, because this is the only way you will be healed, but understand that all of this is only part of the grand story the author of good, God is writing about you. This hurting you are experiencing is only announcing the new season you are about to enter.
Think about it:
Is there something good this hurting is producing in you?
Could it be that God is about to close a cycle in your life? What do you think?
