God listens to you

GOD LISTENS TO YOU

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3 NIV).

During our darkest times, God encourages us to tell Him everything that is in our hearts. He calls us to pray and to put our burdens in His hands, because He has the solution that you and I need.

“O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge” (Psalm 62:8 NLT).

It is normal to question, “Is God listening to me?”. The Word says that if you cry out unto Him with all your heart, He will answer you and show you amazing things that without Him you’d never understand.

You probably feel desperate right now because you pray and pray and it seems as if God doesn’t listen to you. The days seem to get longer as you wait on His reply. However, many times God speaks to you, but you are too tense and full of frustration that you are unable to listen to Him.

The Lord’s voice is like a whisper in the midst of the most intense storms. The Bible says that prophet Elijah was expecting to hear God’s voice in a strong wind, then in an earthquake and finally in a fire, but he ended up hearing His voice in a whisper.

“And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper” (1 Kings 19:12 NLT).

What do I want to tell you with this? That in order to listen to God you need to be attentive, you need to be calm and you need to understand that He won’t speak to you in the way you expect Him to, instead He will speak gently because He wants you to pay attention to what He has to tell you.

Many think that the Lord will speak to them audibly or loudly, but it’s not always like that. Most of the times He speaks softly, why? Because He wants you to pay attention, and because He is the prince of peace, the prince of that peace that transcends your understanding.

Do not get tired of telling Him everything that is in your heart. Do not get tired of praying to Him because He has ears to listen to you and a mouth to answer you in an amazing way and in a timely manner. Trust the Lord.

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3 NIV).
