IN WHO TO PUT YOUR TRUST
“At that time Hanani the seer came to King Asa and told him, “Because you have put your trust in the king of Aram instead of in the Lord your God, you missed your chance to destroy the army of the king of Aram. Don’t you remember what happened to the Ethiopians and Libyans and their vast army, with all of their chariots and charioteers? At that time you relied on the Lord, and he handed them over to you. The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. What a fool you have been! From now on you will be at war” (2 Chronicles 16:7-9 NLT).
In who do you trust? The human being’s downfall happens when they begin to put their trust on other things or people instead of God.
Sometimes we tend to rely on a healthy bank account, on a job, or on our influential friends in the government when our trust should not be founded on something or someone we can lose.
We can lose money and friends. Our investments can drop in the stocks, our spouse can betray us, and a job can disappear forever. However, God will never be lost, He is still sitting on the throne and no one can move Him from it.
This is why our trust in God will never fail. When problems, sickness or marital threats come our way, God will sustain us, because He is faithful, and He will strengthen us during times of difficulty.
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8 NLT).
Think about it:
Who or what do you depend on?
In which areas of your life have you been experiencing war because you’re not trusting God?
