Your current reality is not the truth

YOUR CURRENT REALITY IS NOT THE TRUTH

“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5 NIV).

It is true that though we follow Christ, serve Him in a ministry and seek His presence on a daily basis that we will still go through losses.

We might experience the loss of a loved one, the failure of a project, betrayal, physical abuse or losing a family member to drugs. The feeling and human reaction we experience toward losses is always the same, and that is hurt.

The Lord tells us in Psalms 30:5 that the hurting will not last forever, it is momentary. However, God’s blessing will last a lifetime.

The stages we go through in order to recover from a loss are the same for everyone, because we all react as human beings. First, we experience severe pain, then we begin to doubt ourselves and we even begin to doubt God, next we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel and begin to understand what we are going through and finally we are able to re-integrate in our lives once again.

Nevertheless, if you are someone who trusts Christ, the recovery is faster because you know that though you’re experiencing a difficult situation, God’s promises in His Word are above your current reality.

If you are going through hurt because of a loss, you might be in the stage of severe pain or perhaps in the stage of accepting your reality, but regardless where you are right now, remember that there is a higher truth that is stronger and mightier that your human reality, and that is God’s promise which is found in His Word.

Hold onto His promises at all times, because after God heals your hurt you will be stronger and more blessed than before your loss. You will be restored in His strength not in your own strength, and you and I know that when God lifts us it is because He is taking us to another level, which is better than the one we were in before.

“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:05 NIV).

Think about it:

Have you forgotten God’s promises because you are hurting due to a loss?
Is there something you can do today to accelerate your recovery?
