A LEADER MAKES DIFFICULT DECISIONS
PART I

“Get up, for it is your duty to tell us how to proceed in setting things straight. We are behind you, so be strong and take action” (Ezra 10:4 NLT).

Someone who is a leader in an areahas many privileges, but also many responsibilities. A leader is obligated to communicate and make difficult decisions for the greater good of their family, team, business, or church. Therefore, today I will share two steps that will help us make wisedecisions.

1.Pray.
Seek God’s will in prayer to make sure that you are not acting solely on your emotions, past wounds, anger, or pride.

“While Ezra prayed and made this confession, weeping and lying face down on the ground in front of the Temple of God, a very large crowd of people from Israel—men, women, and children—gathered and wept bitterly with him” (Ezra 10:1 NLT).

2. Read the Bible.
Seek the Lord’s direction regarding the situation you are facing. What does God say about it? Who in the Bible had tomake a similar decision? How did they resolve it? As you ask yourself these questions, you will discover the solution to your problems.

Most of us make hasty decisions, thus,we end up seeing the consequences of our choices and we don’t like them, and we realize that we could have made a wiser choice.

“Those who trust their own insight are foolish, but anyone who walks in wisdom is safe” (Proverbs 28:26 NLT).

Every decision you make has the power to improve or worsen your future, to align or divert you from your purpose and that is why we need to be wise and save ourselves by praying and reading God’s Word when we are about to make a decision.
