Not by might nor power

NOT BY MIGHT NOR POWER

“So, he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty” (Zachariah 4:6 NIV).

There are many situations in life that will make us react and enforce justice in our own strength, emotions or human wisdom, but the Word of God teaches us to learn to move, defend and act by the power of His Holy Spirit:

“May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14 NIV).

Doing these things every daywill cause something good to come out of us when we are under pressure. We need to heal our damaged emotions, so that when life puts pressure on us, the fruit of the Spirit comes out instead of the fruit of the flesh. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, faithfulness, humility and self-control.

Let’s ask the Lord to fill us with his Holy Spirit so that when pressure comes to our homes, jobs, ministries, and schools, we can demonstrate stable emotions and attitudes that represent God’s kingdom correctly.

“So, he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty” (Zachariah 4:6 NIV).

Think about it:

What things do you need to stop doing in your own strength?
Which one of the previous daily actions do you need to apply to your own life?
