NOT EVERYONE WILL BE BURIED WITH HONOR
“They are not buried in honor like their fallen heroes, who went down to the grave with their weapons—their shields covering their bodiesand their swords beneath their heads. Their guilt rests upon them because they brought terror to everyone while they were still alive” (Ezekiel 32:27 NLT).
Some people will be buried with honor while others will be buried with indifference.
We are all going to die and our bodies will be placed in a cemetery, where we will temporarily be until the Lord Jesus Christ returns. Nevertheless, not all of us will receive honor when we are buried. Some people are relieved to see others pass away, while others are honored when they passbecause of their contribution in life. These are the kind of people who will be grieved because they were highly esteemed.
The people who will be buried with honor are those who, will not only be remembered, but missedbecause they were significant to their community, because they enriched their society, their family, and their church. They are individuals that not only came to the world to take something from it, but to add value to it and give back the little or much they received from it.
Those who will be buried with honor are those who have marks on their bodies that show how hard they had to fightduring their life-time, and how they didn’t do it with a sword, but with God’s love and the fruit of the Spirit.
The heroes that will be buried with honor are those who fought for the defenseless, for the orphan, and for the widow. The ones who will be buried with honor are those who lived to enrich others even when it meant that they would have to sacrifice their personal desires.
The individual that will be buried with honor is the one who says, “I take joy in doing your will, my God…” (Psalm 40:8 NLT).
Dare to live for something bigger than yourself, and add value to your community today by becoming the Lord’s voice, hands, and feet on earth.
“They are not buried in honor like their fallen heroes, who went down to the grave with their weapons—their shields covering their bodiesand their swords beneath their heads. Their guilt rests upon them because they brought terror to everyone while they were still alive” (Ezekiel 32:27 NLT).
Think about it:
How do you want to be remembered when you die?
What are you doing right now to better your community and society?
