Do not be indifferent

DO NOT BE INDIFFERENT

“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’” (Matthew 25:1, 5-6 NIV).

When you get tired in your spiritual life you lose a passion for people. You don’t feel like serving and you lose enthusiasm. Watch out, this is a sign that you are falling asleep.

During the crisis that happened in Las Vegas, the whole community including the members of Eagles CFC went to help those who had been affected by the mass shooting. Compassion moved us to go support ourcommunity, because we have a passion for the people.

When the only thing you feel passion for is watching the game, spending time with your loved ones, or to having sex, and serving people no longer injects energy and satisfaction in you, then you have lost the passion for the souls.

There is nothing wrong with watching a soccer game, going out with your family, or having an intimacy with your spouse as long as it is within God’s limits, but these things can become a problem if they become the center of your life and they make you indifferent toward other people’s needs.

The character of a community is revealed when they care for the less fortunate and serve others. Do you know what is thepurest way to show God our love and gratitude? We show Him our love and gratitude by serving people.

Are you being effective? Are you serving those who surround you?

When you lose passion, you become ineffective and you conform to only taking care of yourself, your family, and your church. However, God not only called us to care for what He has entrustedus, but also to love one another.

We have to keep preaching with a sense of urgency, expecting souls to be saved, and helping people apply what they have learned. This is how we remain effective.

Today, choose to be like the five wise virgins who had their lamps full of oil. Do not fall asleep during this short life process, remain focused, always looking ahead and being effective.

Think about it:

How can you serve the people who surround you today?
Are you being effective?
