STAY AWAKE
“Don’t let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning. I say to you what I say to everyone: Watch for him!” (Mark 13:36-37 NLT).
Someone who is “asleep” doesn’t realize what is going on around them. They cannot take advantage of any good opportunities. They miss out on the entertainment when they go to the theater. They miss the blessings and the miracles when they go to church. They overlook the beauty in their spouse andchildren; and they are not ready for the second coming of Jesus.
Many times we get blinded, distracted, and exhausted by our problems, which make us fall asleep. How? We fall asleep when we begin to act like everybody else, when we start to give upbefore the challenges, and when we begin to lose our passion and enthusiasm for life.
It’s easy to be a sleeper, but not anyone can stay awake during the process of life. Today it is in my heart to remind you that this life is short and that you need to stay awake. Do not be dismayed, I know that it is hard to believe when God doesn’t make sense, but your faith and determination to stay awake will cause God’s hand to move over your life.
Do not be knocked down by the adversaries; endeavor, change yourattitude, and choose to be an overcomer. It’s up to you to get up or stay asleep. Life is not easy, but if you hold on to God you will stay awake no matter what your circumstance is.
We must stop being passive in all areas of our life. We need to live awake, alert, happy, and with purpose. Don’t stay asleep and then regret it forever. Wake up, this nightmare will also pass and it will make you an overcomer.
Think about it:
How do you know you are awake today?
What problems have been making you fall asleep?
