A man after God’s heart

A MAN AFTER GOD’S HEART

“Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins” (Psalm 51:1 NLT).

One of the reasons as to why David was a man after God’s heart was because he easily repented when he sinned. Nobody had to force him to confess his faults and then repent, he simply didn’t want to lose the Spirit of God, thus, he humbled himself before the Lord and turned his heart toward Him.

In this passage, I learned not to justify my faults. It is better to confess and recognize my mistakes with humility so that I may obtain forgiveness and restoration. We will all make mistakes because none of us are perfect, but we all have the chance to confess and repent.

I never want to give myself the chance to justify my mistakes, because I know this will only delay the fulfillment of God’s Will in the city of Las Vegas. It has deeply pleased Pastor Dinora and I to do His Will, for this is what we live for.

I want to be a man after God’s heart and when I get to heaven I just want Him to tell Pastor Dinora and I, “I am so proud of you”. I long to please my Heavenly Father.

Who or what are you after? Is your purpose defined? Remember that everything will stay behind in this life, but the only thing that won’t is your soul and all the souls that you won for Christ.

We cannot afford to divert from His Will, because we continue to cover our sins. It is better to confess our faults, move away from the stone that we keep tripping over, and continue to receive His mercy.

“People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy” (Proverbs 28:13 NLT).

Pursue to be a person after God’s heart. How can you become this person? By living in obedience and doing everything He asks you, while keeping a sincere heart whenever you make a mistake. He is not looking for perfection, He is looking for a heart that is willing to do His Will. Can God count on you?

“Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins” (Psalm 51:1 NLT).

Think about it:

How sincere have you been with the Heavenly Father lately?
What mistakes have you justified that you need to admit in order to receive the Lord’s mercy?
