A vision greater than me

A VISION GREATER THAN ME

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21 NKJV).

When we have a vision that is greater than ourselves we don’t have time to throw self-pity parties. Many people get discouraged in life because they feel like their life has no meaning. Others get distracted by theirfeelings, because they don’t have a vision that is greater than their feelings.

I do have a vision that is greater than me! Therefore, I don’t allow myself to be distracted by what sometimes is happening to me due to the adversities in my life, because to me what happened to Jesus on the cross of Calvary and what that miracle produced for all humanity is more important.

I am committed to the vision that God has given us as a church, and since it is such a great vision, it fills my thoughts, my agenda, I have no personal agenda, and it fills my life. I do not have time to complain nor to giveup, because I know that everything that happens to me on earth is temporary, but God’s vision is eternal, and it produces an eternal satisfaction in me!

My life is not just about enjoying my marriage, though it is part of it, for I know that before being right in the ministry I need to be right at home. I wouldn’t be preaching if I wouldn’t be right at home. To get to the point, yes, it is God’s will for us to be happy and to feel fulfilled as we reach our personal goals, but we must understand that we were wired to be part of something much greater.

The world doesn’t only revolve around us. We are a people that will never find true satisfaction unless we know our purpose and live for a vision that is greater than ourselves. For Dinora andI the vision that is greater than us is God’s will for this world. This is why we live for Christ and when we die, we know that this will only be gain, because we will be in His presence forever.

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21 NKJV).

Think about it:

What motivates you to get up every morning?
What vision do you live for?
